Welcome to the webpage of Doug & Kathy McClain. It is our hope that you will search this site to learn more about us and our ministry in Germany. There are also tabs you can use to contact us and even learn how you can partner with us, both financially ("Partner with us") and in prayer ("Contact Us"), if you so desire. If you would like to receive our newsletters use the "Newsletters" tab, or if you have any questions or other communication, you can use the "Contact Us" tab.

We live in southwest Germany and serve Christ Jesus through ABWE (Association of Baptists for World Evangelism) by helping a small church in Pirmasens, Germany. Pirmasens is a city which is very close to the French border. It is a very beautiful area, both within the city as well as in the surrounding area. It is a city of about 40,000 people, with a rich history. Historically, it held the title "shoe capital of the world" and up until 1994 was home to an American army base.  While some shoes are still manufactured here, production has fallen off dramatically due to the loss of about 90% of its shoe companies. The city no longer has the influence that it once enjoyed. While it has its share of wealthy families, there is also a disproportionate number of underprivileged people.

There is a real need here, especially spiritually, as less than 2% of the German people are truly Bible-believing Christians. Two of our primary programs in Pirmasens involve reaching out to the children in the area in an after school program and in reaching out to refugees who began arriving in 2015. We are also involved in ministry in our church in Kusel 2 days per week teaching German refugees and helping with their building project.
